The activities of the specialized council for awarding academic degrees were reorganized in 2018.

      By the decision of the Higher Attestation Commission under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Academic Council for awarding the degrees of Doctor of Law (DSc) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) was established and the code of the council was set as DSc.27.06.2017.Yu.25.01.

      To the council was allowed The defense of dissertations for the degree of “12.00.08 - Criminal law, crime prevention. Criminology. Criminal-executive law” and “12.00.09 - Criminal procedure. Criminalistics, Investigative Law and Forensic Science". In addition, based on the decision of the Board of the Higher Attestation Commission, the structure of the admission commissions for the above specialties and foreign language (English) was approved.

      The establishment of the Council serves to improve the organizational and legal mechanisms of the fight against crime in the country, increase the effectiveness of fundamental and practical research on existing problems in the field of crime prevention, search operations and crime investigation.
